"Thomas Edson, who lived in Adderbury, Oxfordshire, England, is the earliest known ancestor of the family. The name is of Anglo-Saxon origin, and the family was long in England, although the name is not a common one. Thomas was born there about 1480. He married Juliana, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Fox) Bustard. Thomas was a small farm owner. They had two children in Adderbury." 6
